June 13, 2008 - Cedar River crests at 31.12 feet

FallĀ 2008 - River Corridor Redevelopment Plan approved by City Council (completed in 120 days)

November 2008 - Flood management strategy submitted to US Army Corps of Engineers for Cedar River Feasibility Study

February 2009 - Public facility rebuilding plan approved by City Council

Spring 2009 - City begins to repair public facilities

Spring 2009 - City purchases 2.66 miles of temporary barriers to reinforce current levees each spring until permanent floodwalls are built

May 2009 - Neighborhood Reinvestment Action Plan for 10 flood-impacted neighborhoods approved by City Council (completed in 120 days)

Summer 2009 - Begin implementation of Neighborhood Reinvestment Action Plans

Fall 2009 - Community Facilities Public Participation Process complete

2011 - US Army Corps of Engineers' Cedar River Feasibility Study complete

2012 - Construction expected to begin on permanent floodwalls

2018 - Repair, reconstruction and replacement of all City facilities expected to be complete

2020 - Reconstruction and replacement of all housing and businesses expected to be complete

2024 - Construction of permanent floodwalls expected to be complete
